Head coach of KCCA FC, George Nsimbe, has said they will be chasing revenge when they face Nkana Red Devils in the next round if the CAF Champions League.
The Ugandan champions ejected El Merreikh (Sudan) last weekend on a 3-2 goal aggregate, while the Zambians recovered from a 2-0 loss to Mbabane Swallows in the first leg to win 5-2 in Kitwe on Saturday.
Nsimbe told MTNFootball.com that after Nkana Red Devils ejected KCCA FC in the same competition in 1992, winning 4-0 in Zambia and 2-1 in Kampala, they will be out to claim revenge in style. “We managed to revenge our 2009 elimination to El Merreikh in 2014 and we can do the same with Nkana Red devils,” said the coach.
The coach said although Ugandan team have had a jinx against Zambian teams in CAF competitions, his boys are rearing to go to Kitwe and win the match.
“If we could beat El Merreikh in Khartoum, we can also go to Kitwe and win,” said a confident coach.
However, the former Cranes midfielder also added that his team will have to improve on a number of aspects before making the first leg trip to Zambia.
“When we lost 2-1 to El Merreikh last weekend, I realised several things that we need to improve on,” he added.
The KCCA FC team will also welcome back experienced former national team attacking midfielder Steven Bengo who missed the two legs in the preliminary round with a muscle strain.
