Just after reporting that George ‘Best’ Nsimbe could soon be kicked out of Azam FC, he has confirmed his sacking.
The former KCCA FC head tactician has been shown the exit less than a year after joining the club on a two year contract in the capacity of assistant coach to Cameroon national John Omog who was sacked before the end of the 2014/2015 season.
Omog’s sacking paved way for Nsimbe to be named as the head coach for the CECAFA Kagame Cup defending champions. He guided the club to finishing second on the league table behind winners Yanga.
He was however replaced by Stewart Hall whose reign came with new changes that have failed to accommodate the iconic George ‘Best’ Nsimbe.
“It’s true. I was relieved of my duties at Azam,” Nsimbe confirmed to Airtel Football. “The new coach (Stewart Hall) said he has his assistants and so the management terminated my contract.”
The three league title winner while at the Lugogo based camp, KCCA also revealed that he is available for any job at the moment. “I have no attachment now. My contract has been duly paid after termination and am now available to whoever is willing to offer me a coaching job,” he revealed.
Here’s George ‘Best’ Nsimbe Profile according to Airtel Football:
• He was born on December 29, 1996 to Kenyan father Richard Siambe and got the name Nsimbe from Paul Nsimbe who raised him.
• He previously played football for Wandegeya, NIC and KCC FC which he joined in 1985.
• As a player, Nsimbe won league titles in 1985 and 1991 plus three Uganda Cups in 1987, 1990 and 1993.
• He also won two CECAFA Senior Challenge titles with Uganda Cranes in 1989 & 1990.
• As a coach, he has won three league titles with KCC FC in 2007/08, 2012/13 & 2013/14.
• He also boosts of one Uganda Cup crown which he won with Victors FC in 2010.
• He has coached KCC FC, Victors FC, Fire Masters and Azam FC
