A picture purportedly showing a prototype of Nokia’s first Android-based smartphone, codenamed “Normandy,” has surfaced on China’s popular social network, Sina Weibo. The image then made its way to Twitter via @seamisu.

The photo doesn’t reveal any clues about the device’s specifications or even its size, but The Verge cites sources saying it’s going to be a low-to-mid-range device with a forked version of Android and a custom UI.

It makes sense when you consider previous rumors of a Nokia Android device, but we’d hold any further speculations until Microsoft’s purchase of Nokia’s handset division is finalized.
