Bobi Wine has offered notes on quitting alcohol to comedian Patrick Idringi Salvador. This follows Salvador’s tweet four days into his no alcohol moment. One of Salvador’s goals this year is to completely go off alcohol, this following in the footsteps of many other Ugandan celebs.

Bobi Wine revealed that he’d last sipped alcohol in 2012 and since then has been writing a book on how to keep sober without any struggle. Among the other Ugandans on the no alcohol movement is famous creative Useful Idiot. He’s yet to give updates on how the journey is going so far.

The alcohol-free movement in Uganda also has people such as President Yoweri Museveni. Sources also revealed that the first son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba is currently on this teetotalism movement, having last sipped some alcohol in January 2023.

“This trend is more common among Gen Zs. You know us Gen Zs we hate the struggle that comes with alcohol, the hangovers. Being sober is the new drug. Like you take in all your life with everything it hits you with. You don’t blur your reality,” Murkomen a Gen Z told BigEye.ug

If things go like this, the alcohol-free movement could soon demand for alcohol free beer. But we shall remind them that Soda and water already exist for this purpose.
