Singer Nince Henry turned himself into a laughing stock before he was booed by revelers at the monthly Club Beer unplugged show at Club Silk last night. Nince Henry was lined up alongside Don Mc and Rabadaba, who are by far more lively artistes that even appeal to a different fan base.
Although one of the best song writers, Nince’s own songs are not as famous as Minzani or Birowozo and many more songs that he has written for other artistes.
Nince first refused to get on stage when he was introduced by Mc Percy, reason being he wanted to perform last after Rabadaba and Don Mc.
And when he got on stage, Nince sang so many heavily-worded kadongo kaamu-like songs; he bored the crowd stiff. Things could only get worse as Nince misused his breaks by preaching to the crowd about how to write great songs and how artistes cannot do what he does. The crowd was bored to the bone and they went up in arms; “you sing, we are tired!” the crowd screamed with fury.
But Nince seemed unmoved as he went on with a lukewarm performance. Nince crowned his performance by sampling some of other singers’ songs that he wrote.
“Nince Henry was clearly in a wrong place; he would have made more sense at Dance Floor in Natete,” said a top music critic.
