Nina Roz has announced her intention to run for the Wakiso Woman Member of Parliament seat in the 2026 general elections.
She will be contesting under the National Unity Platform (NUP) banner, a political party led by fellow musician-turned-politician Bobi Wine.
Despite this Nina Roz has reassured her fans that her music career remains strong and will not be compromised. However, she is open to temporarily pausing her music if necessary to focus on her political ambitions.
This decision stems from her desire to address certain issues in Uganda, particularly those affecting the arts industry.
Nina Roz feels she is well-positioned to help create a conducive environment for her music and everyone else.
She is motivated by the need to ensure that artists have a voice in parliament, something she feels has been lacking.
According to her, some artists who have previously entered politics have been compromised or denied the opportunity to contribute meaningfully.
