Nile Special has unveiled a special football to celebrate Uganda. The ball, which is 3.5 metres in diameter and stands on a 2.25 high pedestal, was revealed at the brand’s World Cup final fun-park at the KCCA grounds on Sunday.
Speaking during the event, the Nile Special Brand Manager Francis Nyende said that, “this ball is representative of who we are, what constitutes our country, and what unites us all. It is meant to inspire and ignite our passion in the Cranes all the time.”
“We want to celebrate all the things that make our country special while also reminding us to keep faith that we have what it takes to be among the greats at football’s most prestigious event. To us at Nile Special, the end of Russia 2018 World Cup is only the beginning of our journey to the next World Cup.” He added.
Aptly named football “Made of Uganda”, the art installation predominantly consists of local material and Ugandan inspired artwork themes. It is composed of various themed panels with each representing either an aspect about Uganda such as traditional music instruments, landscape sceneries, cultural apparel, and staple foods among others.
