Nigerian singer Korede Bello has cautioned youth against using drugs. The “Godwin” star made the remarks while speaking at press conference held on Thursday afternoon at The Lawns Restaurant.

“I know what it means to be a teen,” he said. “But you dont have to use drugs like tobacco to be cool. It is actually very rewarding to lead a clean lifestyle.”

Korede, who jetted into the country on Wednesday night, will be headlining the Fly Fest which is slated for this Saturday, September 15th at Lugogo Hockey Grounds. He will perform alongside several Ugandan musicians including Geosteady, Spice Diana, Lydia Jazmine, Da Agent Levixone and Coop Bly among others.

The Fly Fest is aimed at celebrating teen voices ahead of the new school term. The fest will be a fun-filled event with lots of activities lined up including games, mentor-ship sessions and performances.

“Lets come out in big numbers and do our thing. I am looking forward to having a good time, and engaging in different sports activities with all the young people.” He added.

Fly is a community of teens expressing who they are through the choices they make. It is an initiative that is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, with the aim of reducing the uptake of smoking amongst teenagers in Uganda.
