The 2nd edition of the Uganda Film Festival was launched recently at Uganda Communications House in Kampala. The launch attracted several stake holders in Uganda’s movie industry including actors, photographers, directors, name it.
The event was also graced by celebrated Nollywood star actress Patience Ozokwor more popularly known as Mama G who has starred in over 200 movies to-date.
Mama G was the guest speaker at the launch of Uganda Film Festival 2014, whose theme is “Empowering Ugandans through Film”.
The Uganda Film Festival is a brainchild of the Uganda Communications Commission which was started in a bid to streamline and develop the film industry in Uganda. The annual film festival that is now running for the second time is intended to help showcase what the industry is doing and at the same time focusing attention to all the other facets of the industry.
The festival aims to generate interest in the Ugandan film industry both locally and internationally, but also to bring all the industry players together in a more focused and promising environment.
