Mountain Dew in partnership with American video game publisher Activision has contracted seasoned gamer and Digital Marketing practitioner Edwin Danze to organize and oversee the Call of Duty Mobile Tour in Uganda.

Danze who is not new to the video gaming scene in the country will be charged with taking care of all activities of the tour on behalf of Mountain Dew ( Crown Beverages Limited ) to help them understand what the Ugandan market is like in terms of gaming and to understand the reception that the game got.

Call of Duty Mobile is a free-to-play shooter game developed by TiMi Studio Group and published by Activision for Android and iOS devices.

It was released on October 1, 2019, where it was one of the largest mobile game launches in history and now, it is being tested across the world to see how it is being received.

In Uganda, the tour is slated to start November 2021 and conclude in January 2022.

Danze who is a seasoned gamer with vast experience in organizing and managing gaming events is expected to organize gamers despite the partial lockdown due to the Covid19 pandemic, bring them together for the exercise.

“I am very excited to see that my efforts have been noticed by a global company like Mountain Dew and Activision. This means that all my work has not been in vain and it is also an indicator that Gaming in Uganda is taking the right direction. Gaming is a passion and any chance to put the Ugandan Gaming scene on the map is an opportunity I take with arms wide open,” said Danze.

“I know the times are hard but I would like to encourage all gamers in Uganda to seize this opportunity and participate in this exercise because it is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that doesn’t come very often,” he added. I hope that one day, I will host or collaborate efforts to bring events like EVO or Comic Con to East Africa.

Gamers and game developers will share their experiences playing Call of Duty Mobile, share feedback and the lucky ones will walk away with prizes.

The tour is happening in close collaboration with Mountain Dew who are renowned for their support of extreme sports and video games.
