A new talent search has been launched.
Dubbed “DelaCosta talent search”, it was announced at a press briefing held on Monday morning at University Plaza hotel, Wandegeya, Kampala.
The talent search aims to provide a platform for raw singing talent from across the country to express themselves and get discovered.
According to their PRO, Godfrey Newsmaker, they will traverse different parts of the country seeking out the most talented musicians who will then be equipped with skills needed to grow a successful music career.
“We are investing in the future of our music industry and want to change the lives of the young talented artistes,” he stated. “We will select five winners from each region who will then be inducted into our academy where they will be imparted with all the necessary skills — such as stage performance and song writing skills among others — to sustain their singing career.”
He further noted that this talent search will be held annually with the overall winner walking away with a record label deal.
The competition is an initiative by DelaCosta Kingdom, a production house and record label owned by UK-based Ugandan businessman Matovu Jose Delacosta. Participation in the talent search is free of charge and interested candidates can pick registration forms at DelaCosta Kingdom offices at University Plaza or apply online. It is expected to kick off in the first week of April.
