Netflix set to appoint Ugandan as Head of Production

From Daniel Kaluuya to the likes of Phionah Mutesi, Eddy Kenzo among others, Uganda has had its own share of success through different individuals representing the 256 on the international scene.

The wave continues as reports coming through indicate that our very own, Tendo Nagenda is set to be appointed head of production at Netflix. Born to a Ugandan father, Nagenda is among the most powerful Africans in Hollywood.

Nagenda has worked on various Disney productions like “Queen of Katwe” inspired by a Ugandan real life story of Phionah Mutesi .Currently he is the executive vice president of production at Disney – the world’s biggest entertainment company.

He also had a hand in the revival of live-action remakes of Disney classics like “Beauty and the Beast,” and also been involved with Ava DuVernay’s “A Wrinkle in Time” and Tim Burton’s “Dumbo,” expected to bow March 29, 2019.
