Rapper Navio might not be visiting Rubaga soon after it emerged that the area is heavily infested with bedbugs. The blood sucking night feeders have become a public nuisance in the city.
Residents of Rubaga have turned into active blood donors during the night. The bugs are minute and live in crevices. They can withstand hunger for long periods and feed strictly in darkness.
Several city suburbs, university hotels have been hit by the bugs but many are too proud to confess. Taxis are acting as their reservoir grounds from where they reproduce and are spread by attaching to passengers who take them to their homes.
Recently indoor spraying methods have been employed to curb its spread and ensure peaceful night sleep.
