Legendary Ugandan rapper Navio has opened up on why he was unable to secure big international awards during the early days of his music career despite releasing top-charting songs.

Speaking about his journey, Navio revealed that his peak came at a time when he was still a student, which limited his opportunities for international recognition.
“It was unfortunate that I reached the peak of my career when I was still in school,” Navio explained.
During that time, the rapper had already recorded several hits, including Rackus, Bugumu, and Tell Me, which became instant favorites among music lovers.
However, his academic commitments made it difficult for him to fully pursue global exposure and awards.
Navio, who remains one of Uganda’s most respected hip-hop artists, continues to inspire young talents with his story, reminding them that timing and dedication are key in the music industry.
