National team prayers successfully completed, players continue training

Prayers for the National team were successfully concluded over the weekend as training also resumed with seven foreign based players joining the camp out of the expected twelve.

The divine intervention for the Uganda Cranes began on Friday with Jumma prayers at the Uganda National Mosque at Old Kampala while Sunday prayers were held at Rubaga Cathedral, Namirembe Church and at Victory Church in Ndeeba.

Meanwhile, seven professional players joined the team in training at the Bible society on Saturday and at Nakivubo Stadium on Sunday. The seven players include the Cranes Captain Geoffrey Massa who features for Bloemfontein Celtics, Yasser Mugerwa who plays for Orlando Pirates both from South Africa, Godfrey Walusimbi and Khalid Aucho both from Gor Mahia, Tonny Mawejje, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda and Moses Oloya.

Players who trained included; James Alitho (GK), Joseph Nsubuga, Bernard Muwanga, Erisa Sekisambu, Edrisa Lubega, Hassan Wasswa Mawanda, Godfrey Walusimbi ,Khalid Aucho, Tonny Mawejje, Moses Oloya, Yassar Mugerwa and Geoffrey Massa.
