Nagirinya Shifrah, one of the orphans of the late Hon. Muhammad Ssegirinya, has been reported missing by her mother, Nanfuka Fatumah.
This unsettling development comes shortly after the late legislator was laid to rest on January 12th in Butale, Kadugala-Masaka.
According to Nanfuka, following the burial proceedings, she instructed Nagirinya to join her siblings in their bedroom around 8 PM. However, by morning, Nanfuka discovered that her daughter was missing. Despite searching all night, her efforts yielded no results.
When she sought answers from the deceased MP’s mother, Nakajumba Justine, the latter claimed to suspect that Nagirinya might have been taken by a family member who attended the funeral.
Nakajumba also mentioned that the alleged abduction could have been facilitated by Kasagga Bosco, the family’s driver.
The family wasted no time and rushed to Masaka Police Station to file a missing person’s report. However, before they left for Kampala, Nanfuka received a phone call confirming her worst fears. The caller claimed that Kasagga Bosco admitted to having Nagirinya but refused to release her.
Nanfuka engaged in a heated argument with Kasagga over the phone. Eventually, Kasagga reportedly promised to return Nagirinya the following Sunday.
However, Nanfuka remains deeply distressed and demands clarity on the incident.
“Whatever Kasagga and everyone behind this is planning, they should know that I remain Nagirinya’s mother. They cannot replace me or take my child away from me without an explanation,” Nanfuka stated.
