Last week, AK47’s widow Maggie Kiweesi came out and claimed that she built the late singer’s house using her own money.
However, Mzee Mayanja has refuted the claims in an interview on Simba FM. He said that the widow didn’t contribute anything during the construction of the house and that the money she says she contributed, was the money he gave to her from AK47’s land he sold.
“She says she contributed towards the construction of the house but that money she’s talking about is the money I gave to her from the refund I got from AK 47’s land he had paid for before he died,” Mzee Mayanja said.
According to Mzee Mayanja, before AK 47 died, he had paid shs 11M for land but he didn’t manage to acquire it since he didn’t pay the money to the real owner of the land but rather to someone who had false ownership of the land. So Mzee Mayanja managed to get back that money and gave it to the widow to finish the house.
“The timber and the iron sheets which finished the house were contributed by Chameleone and AK47’s friends, the doors in the house were purchased by AK47 from his friend before he died and he was paying for them in installments,” Mzee Mayanja added.
