MTN Uganda today announced that its popular MyMTN App, had surpassed its 100,000th download! The newly upgraded self-care mobile application has seen thousands of MTN customers increasingly access various MTN services and exclusive data offers such as the Gaga Wednesday internet bundles with ease, without using USSD codes or calling MTN customer care agents directly. To mark this milestone, MTN sought to reward its 100,000th customer.
Duncan Ahimbisibwe, a high school student at GreenHill High School was announced by the telecom giant as its lucky 100,000th customer of the MyMTN App.
“I learnt about this app from my sister Diana, who is at campus and is a dedicated user. Out of curiosity I asked her how she manages to load up on voice and data bundles without the tedious process of memorizing and typing the several USSD codes,” said a visibly excited David, who still could not understand how MTN had recognized and rewarded him, for simply downloading its app.
For being the 100,000th customer of the MyMTN App, Duncan was rewarded by the telco with 100,000 shillings worth of data, which translates to 30GB and gift pack of MTN goodies.
“This is in line with driving our overall mission which is to deliver a bold digital world to our customers. We are pleased by the increase in downloads and usage of our award winning MyMTN app owing to its versatile nature and superior user experience with zero MBs needed when using it,” said Valery Okecho MTN’s Corporate Communications Manager.
He added, “With growth in customer download and usage, we shall continue to innovate and upgrade the app regularly to emerging trends and to offer further services and payment options to ease transactions, for example. We aim to enable our customers to access all MTN services in a single app in the palm of their hands; and we believe you will be served better this way.”
The app is part of MTN’s strategy to ensure that it continues to play in the digital space by delivering products that makes the lives of customers brighter.
Due to the innovation around the app, in 2016 at the Social Media Awards the MyMTN app scooped the Best Mobile App award.
