Last year, musician Bobi Wine held a charity concert to help the people of Kasese whose lives had been disorganized by floods.
Several other artiste’s decided to give back to the community following Bobi’s example including Desire Luzinda and Juliana Kanyomozi. In a new drive, Bobi has organized artistes to fight maternal health issues through a charity campaign.
The campaign includes a group of local artistes who have teamed up using their talents and funds to raise about the danger of maternal health issues. These artistes organized by Bobi Wine will carry out their nonprofit activities under the “Save the Children, Everyone is Me” umbrella. They have decided to launch their campaign with a concert called ‘Every One Charity Concert’ at Hotel Africana. It will take place today.
“We are not getting any money out of this, we came together as musicians to help fight maternal deaths,” Bobi Wine observed.
“We shall go across Uganda with this campaign and visit homes and hospitals,” Mowzey Radio added.
Musicians Peter Miles, Jose Chameleone, David Lutalo, Rema Namakula, Navio, Gravity Omutujju and Judith Babirye are some of the artistes who was actively involved in the activity.
Maternal health issues have claimed many Ugandan mothers and these artistes are determined to fight it.
