Musicians Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine honored at MIC Awards

Jose Chameleone and Bobi Wine were recently honored at the first MIC Awards that took place on Tuesday, 21st May at Hotel Africana.

According to the organizers, the Music Industry Cover (MIC) Awards will be happening annually and are aimed at recognizing and celebrating individuals, businesses, organizations and regulatory government agencies that contribute to the development of the music business.

The award ceremony was graced by the Minister for the Elderly and Disabled, Sulaiman Madada, who represented the President as the chief guest, plus different stakeholders in the music industry.

Most Prolific Ugandan Music Composer Since 1961 – Silver Kyagulanyi

Best Music Studio (2004 – 2014) by Number of hit songs – Dream Studio

Most Excellent Ugandan Music Performing Artist on the World Stage – Jose Chameleone

Best Music Distributor/­Publisher (1994 – 2014) – Kasiwukira

Most Supportive Print Media (2004 – 2014) – Bukedde Newspaper

Most Supportive Radio (2004 – 2014) – CBS

Most Supportive Television (2004 – 2014) – WBS

Most Musically Influential Local Music Artist (2014) – Bobi Wine

Most Supportive Online Media (2004 – 2014) – Music Uganda

Most Outstanding Music Video Director (2004 – 2014) – Jah Live

Biggest Exporter of Ugandan Music to the World (2004 -2014) – Alliance Franciase

Most Outstanding Local Music Promoter (2005 – 2014) – Balaam
