Music stars, Eddy Kenzo and Bruno K will make an appearance in a new TV series dubbed Juniors Drama Club. The singers join a star-studded cast that includes media personalities and seasoned actors like Canary Mugume, Gaetano Kaggwa, Malaika Nyanzi, Dianah Nabatanzi, Sammy Wetala, Uncle Mo and Natasha Sinayobye among others.
The show which premiered Thursday on Pearl Magic Prime also features young talents like Tyra Abok, Alvan Lakor, and Barack Babala.
According to Allan Manzi, the show producer, the TV series is a family-friendly show that will appeal to all ages. “Viewers of Pearl Magic prime will get to experience a different way to enjoy a smooth blend of music and film by a very talented group of young and vibrant actors that will appeal to people across all ages.”
The show, set in a school environment, will highlight key issues children, parents, and school administrators face in the urban school today.
Speaking at the premiere, Rinaldi Jamugisa, the PR & Communications Manager, MultiChoice Uganda, revealed that the drama series is among the many investments the Pay-tv company continues to make to ensure new and fresh content for its customers.
“This continued investment in new content for our viewers on DStv and GOtv is part of our hyper-local strategy to ensure we deliver value to our customers through collaborative efforts with Ugandan filmmakers,” Jamugisa said.
He further noted that MultiChoice continues to collaborate with various filmmakers in the country to amplify their offering for their viewers, with three new shows already in the pipeline. “This month we shall unveil 3 other shows and a new channel; a testament to our deliberate and continued quest to ensure Ugandans get more local filmmakers as a way to amplify Ugandan voices and talent,” he said.
Juniors Drama Club will air every Thursday and Friday at 7:30 pm on Pearl Magic Prime, Channel 148 on DStv, and channel 305 on GOtv.
