Ugandan rapper Flex D Paper almost lost his life at a hostel in Wandegeya yesterday.
The musician who had gone to check on his friends at Karlmax hostel didn’t know that he would end up in hospital from a gunshot wound.
According to our source who was at the scene at the time of the shooting, Flex had gone to the hostel to check on his friend and pick his laptop. The Makerere University alumni who put up at the same hostel when he was still studying was then blocked by the security guard at the hostel and then shot.
“He came to Kalmax at about 5am after a night out, he came in with a friend to pick up a laptop bag that he had left at the premises, and this askari knows him because while Flex was still studying at university he was a resident here. But when he came through yesterday Saturday telling him that he was getting a bag and leave the place, he (Swaleh) the Askari, argued with him and even started pushing him,” the source stated.

“Flex then told him that he had no plans of staying at the hostel but only wanted his laptop bag from a friend. But the askari kept on arguing with him and before we know it, Flex was on the ground with blood all over his trouser. We realized that had shot him in the thigh,” he added.
At this point, we have gathered that Flex was rushed to Abii clinic where doctors allegedly refused to treat his wound. He was later rushed to Case clinic for treatment.
When we talked to Flex, he had this to say; “The injury was deep but not that severe, because it cut me on the thigh, but I will be better quick since am taking medication, and also doctors have said I visit there every day this week.”

Residents at Karlmax hostel were quick to accuse the askari of using cheap drugs and a lot of alcohol while on duty. “He takes a lot of liquor and has a gun. Sooner or later he will kill someone if management doesn’t do something about it,” said Grace who puts up at the hostel.
