Musician Brenda Naluzige also known as Minayo recently talked about her music and prayer life in an interview. She was answering questions from a fan with whom she was meeting for the first time. As the interview went on, she opened up about how many times she prays, how many songs she has among many other things.
Asked when she started her career, the singer whose name means bright star, said that she has been at it since her times in school at Equatorial College and Muyenga High, but was asked by her parents to keep it on the down low until school was done. “My parents wanted me to concentrate on school and I did those courses to please them. Music is something I was born to do and loved,” she said.
Talking about how many songs she has so far, the singer who has both Kenyan and Ugandan roots said that she has quite a number of songs. “I have many songs with others still in studio but the famous ones include 90 Degrees on which I featured Fidempa, Mafian Girl, Sagala Kumanya, The Way You Love Me and Kankwambale. I have also been on all-star tracks like Nonstop and Club Rotation,” she added.
Minayo was then asked about prayer and how many times she communicates with the most high. She said that it has been quite a while although she hopes to start from where she stopped. “My dad is going to kill me for this one. To be honest, I have taken a long time without going to church. We used to pray a lot when growing up, so I kind of got disinterested but I’m working on going back,” she said.
Apart from singing, Minayo is also a farmer. She has chicken and gardens of maize in Luweero and Kitende. She also owns a boutique.
