Dorrys Mutahunga, a local musician based in Western Uganda, is now a Masters Degree holder.
The folk singer and music teacher was conferred upon a Degree of Master Of Education(Educational Administration and Planning) at the 23rd graduation ceremony of Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) held on Saturday.
Speaking about the milestone, Dorrys previously encouraged fellow musicians to also invest in education.
“Everyone, especially my fellow artists, should invest in education given the opportunity. It might be a certificate, a degree or any certified qualification,” she said. “Absolutely no amount of money will buy you what Education can. Education is a tool, powerfully liberating. It is elevating and never withers. Education stands the test of time and never runs out of season.”
