Go to an event where A-Pass is scheduled to attend and you will see the “Wuuyo” singer arriving on a bodaboda motorcycle. The singer has never owned a car or even learnt how to drive despite the fact that he has many endorsements with leading brands in Uganda.
The talented and creative singer who prides in spending most of his time in studio which he uses as a bedroom at times, recently revealed that he feels okay being normal and not elevating his status to the level of most celebs in Uganda.
A-Pass said that his father, an engineer, owns many cars but he has never found the need to learn how to drive or even borrow one of them.
“You cannot understand me. People have tried to understand me. They have called me gay, they have asked why I don’t drive but my friends I am a different breed of artiste. I don’t look at these material things, I look at making music as the first thing. My dad has many cars and people are always dissing me that why can’t I drive one of the cars? I just done want to drive them. I will drive mine when the time is right. At the moment I am comfortable moving on a bodaboda to wherever I want. People call me broke, but do you know how much money I make? Do you know how much I have on my account?” the ‘Tulikubigere’ singer who has written several songs for bigwigs like Bebe Cool noted in a live video chat with fans on the Facebook mentions app recently.
The singer who was indifferent after losing the Hipipo newcomer award to Spice Diana last year boasted that his music will take him places because he knows that he is very talented.
We will keep you posted.
