Music Review: Wotuuse – Jackie Chandiru

Jackie Chandiru

She has been in the news for her wedding to a dutch pensioner. Before all that brouhaha, she had grown silent. Muted. Unpopular. But she has bounced back with a new single called Wotuuse. She has arrived, Jackie. It is remarkably good with quite a catchy beat. The kind of song Jackie would get out of her derrierie with such practiced ease. She sounded a bit laidback, unusual of the Lugbara girl fond of oozing energy.

The video seems a tad meh and wanting, but being a good song, it passes. And one thing that will throw people in pits of debate is her new skin colour in the video. She is more brown than her zungu husband. Maybe she has turned brown by osmosis. Or it was an act of amateurish videography. Whatever it was, she looked terrifyingly blonde.

However, Wotuuse will make rounds around bars and clubs and house parties. That is, if it is well pushed. Good song and, for lack of a better word, blonde video.
