Forget “Tubonge” by Jose Chameleone. Its a rather clever rip off this 1986 Bush war praise song of the gallant NRA Bush war soldiers.
The song in charismatic military style praises the army’s conquests of Masulita, Wakiso district that paved way for the final conquest of Kampala city on 25th January 1986 marking the beginning of the President Museveni’ s long reign.
As they celebrate 30 years of power, its fitting to remind ourselves of the struggle that led us to this era. The song backed by youthful voices and warm handclaps will blow your minds to vague imagination of AK 47 wielding youth sacrificing their lives for their country amidst gunshots blazing the country side as civilians scamper for their dear lives.
Do you get it when they say, “Where were you when we were in Bush?” Happy 30th NRM Liberation anniversary.
