If someone dares claims that 2014 is not a year of good videos, then that lad must have spent the whole day (and previous night) drinking, seated around a pot of gin. This year has seen good videos see a light of day. Videos we have all longed to see. This is a good signal of our ailing music industry. Who knows, our artistes might be bound for international nods; BET, do you copy?
Well, Eddy Kenzo, from his Sitya Loss fame, comes up with another awesome piece of art titled Nice and Lovely. The audio is sweet, smooth and good to the ear, but the video is, indeed, nice and lovely. It is shot, somewhat, in a vintage bar setting. Renowned faces are seen in the bar. The fact that it is a tad vintage makes the video stick out like a hurting finger. The dress code is vintage as well and witty. And the dance strokes are flawless.
It is later dragged to the wilderness. Is that a wedding? Maybe it is. Kenzo is seen dancing with a girl, clad in a glittering attire and, oh boy, do they look smart! The story board might be wanting here, but the acts and people, and the setting of the video makes it come off as good. It captures the eye. Here, you won’t blink and you will nod your head throughout, smiling like a wolf.
2014 might go down in history as a year of Eddy Kenzo. The lad who, a few moons ago, thumped a journalist to cabbages and, later, staged a successful show and equally successful shows throughout the country is on a freefall, he is clearly enjoying the time of his musical life; churning out eye candy videos. Before the Sitya Loss dust had settled, look what we have on our hands, Nice and Lovely video is, indeed, nice and lovely. Good video, this one. Well-executed, too.
