Former Kawempe South Member of Parliament, Hon. Munyagwa Mubaraka, has publicly dismissed songstress Iryn Namubiru’s newly released book “My Mother Knows.”

Speaking during an online interview, Munyagwa rubbished the 300-page memoir, saying it is not worth the effort the singer claims to have invested in it.
He argued that the book is “full of trash” and criticized Namubiru for openly attacking her mother through its contents.

Namubiru’s book, which was launched in recent weeks, documents her life story with raw honesty. It highlights painful childhood experiences, including abuse by her biological mother and stepfather, growing up in a dysfunctional family, and surviving betrayal from people close to her.
While the singer has been praised by some readers for her courage in opening up about deeply personal struggles, Munyagwa maintained that the publication does not deserve the attention it is receiving.
The controversy has since sparked debate among fans and the public, with many divided on whether Namubiru’s revelations should be celebrated as bravery or condemned as disrespect.
