Rapper Mun G has opened up about his first encounter with Ugandan Hip Hop legend GNL Zamba, revealing that meeting him was a dream come true that took an unexpected turn through humble beginnings in Bugolobi.

Speaking about his journey, Mun G recalled how he moved from Masaka and briefly stayed with his uncle, who lived in Kiwatule.
However, he found work in Bugolobi, where his musical journey would unexpectedly intersect with Zamba’s world.
“When I left Masaka, I stopped at Bugolobi at my uncle’s place, but they lived in Kiwatule. They got me a secretarial job in Bugolobi. I used to do coursework for MUBS students,” Mun G narrated.
Despite the job having nothing to do with music, Mun G couldn’t hide his passion. He would often play music through a speaker at his workplace and even burn music CDs for students, blending hustle with heart.
Little did he know that his music-filled environment would draw the attention of people closely connected to his idol.
“I used to hear about [GNL Zamba] but I didn’t know him. There’s a friend of his called Unik who used to live with him. Unik was the first to come to my shop and later started bringing Zamba along.”
That serendipitous connection led to regular visits, music debates, and conversations that would shape the future of Ugandan Hip Hop. “That’s how we started talking about music and arguing about Hip Hop stars,” Mun G revealed.
