Musician Bebe Cool reaped big from his Best of Bebe Cool concert at Serena Hotel last Friday. The musician made so much money from the show that he decided to use some of it to complete his ‘Byafayo’ house in Kiwatule, Kampala.
Bebe Cool is said to have made a total of 200 million shillings at the Serena show. Victoria hall which was meant to have 1,200 guests had over 1400 by 10pm as the show was sold out and some revelers had to stand throughout the four hour concert.
The show that had no promoter saw most of the gate collections directly ending up in Bebe Cool’s pockets. Over 1,200 people paid 50,000shs each to get a ticket for the ordinary section. Big wigs like Sudhir, Juma Seiko and Frank Gashumba among others brought in close to 100 million shillings since they were using VVIP tables.
The show was broadcast live on NTV Uganda in part with Bebe Cool putting up an energetic performance, changing costumes eight times and featuring traditional dancer Annet Nandujja. This was true to his advice of bring patriotic as he wanted to promote local and traditional music.
After bagging the 200 Million shillings from the show, Zuena, his wife thanked fans for attending in large numbers and so did the ‘Love You Every day’ singer. Here is what he had to say. “Thanks to ALLAH and you all for trusting me last Friday, the love you all showed me at SERENA you and I together made history EBYAFAYO and this I hope becomes the new trend of the music industry. Big thanks to FENON ,CLUB BEER, PEPSI, SMS ONE, CHANO 8, KFM, for the support,” he stated.
Bebe Cool is going to use the money to complete his house that he has been building for quite some time.
