MTN Uganda has partnered with religious leaders in organizing thanksgiving prayers as Ugandans cross over into the year 2020. The initiative now in its 3rd consecutive year running, will see MTN Uganda contributing support towards organizing the faith-based events and overnight prayers, organised by various religious leaders as they witness the close of 2019 and usher in 2020.

The supported churches include; Kiwamirembe new year prayer celebrations, Bishop Kiganda’s (Christianity Focus Centre) end of year celebrations at Old Kampala play field, Pastor Bugembe’s new year celebrations at Light the World Ministries in Nansana and the Passover celebrations at Namboole Stadium, organized by Apostle Joseph Serwadda’s Victory Christian Centre, Ndeeba.

Following a press conference at MTN Nyonyi Gardens, Kololo that was hosted by MTN and the supported churches, Martin Sebuliba, MTN Senior Manager, Brand & Communication said that, “MTN recognizes the need to stand with our Christian friends and indeed all Ugandans, in celebration and thanksgiving for all the good we have received and the tribulations we have overcome in 2019. That is why MTN is partnering with faith-based leaders who have over the years ensured that we (the people) reflect and give thanks through these prayer festivals.”

“MTN takes this opportunity to thank our customers and Ugandans for their support in 2019. We remain committed to be Uganda’s foremost telecommunications service provider. We affirm the potential of this country and believe that we (MTN) and the people of Uganda are good together (as partners) in transforming the fortunes of our communities”, he concluded.
