Coming on the backdrop of the recently launched “Oh, the things you’ll learn” Internet campaign, MTN Business has launched a suite of multimedia solutions for businesses. The solutions, which will enhance MTN’s fixed line product portfolio, enable customers to have multimedia services that are accessible on one number with a 032 prefix.

This innovation is in line with the current digitalisation wave sweeping across the world and MTN Uganda’s commitment to keep its customers abreast with the digital world.

MTN Uganda Chief Marketing Officer Ernst Fonternel said the services can be used on both wired and wireless terminals, and will deliver voice and video communications, including video collaboration, over IP (Internet Protocol).

MTN Web Phone is a much welcome service for roaming subscribers. While traveling, they can make calls back home over the Internet at our local fixed line rates. This service is available via the MTN Web Phone app on Windows PC, Android and iOS devices. The app can also synchronize with your existing mobile phone contacts, allowing you to easily access the phone numbers you need when calling from abroad.

For those businesses that would like their employees to be reachable at all times, MTN UniPresence ensures that employees can receive calls wherever they are, through one phone number as though they were sitting at their workstations. You can also broadcast one number to your customers as a means to reach you at all times. This service ensures that you do not miss important business calls. MTN UniPresence makes this possible by linking your other MTN numbers to the primary contact number.  When the primary number is called, all the numbers ring at the same time, and the call can be answered on any of them.

“Our IP Multimedia Services will deliver voice and video communication services to businesses over IP. With MTN Hosted PABX, for example, you can enjoy the benefits of an advanced call routing service without any of the hassles. This is because MTN hosts it for you. The service also enables you to connect employees’ home and mobile phones to the same office system. And you don’t have to make a significant investment to get a sophisticated system that allows you to transfer calls, make conference calls, have an automated attendant and more”, Fonternel said.

MTN Multimedia Conferencing will provide a video conferencing experience, with the ability to share presentations and documents with the conferencing participants. Users will therefore be able to have face-to-face collaboration between employees and clients without having to travel.

In his remarks at the close of the breakfast launch event at Sheraton Kampala Hotel, the General Manager MTN Business, Reginald Kafeero said, “MTN Business is delighted to be the driver of telecom innovations and giving the best business communication services on the market. Our new multimedia solutions are an example of the relevant and timely innovations we continuously create to support the needs of our customers’ businesses.”
