For the past 13th years MTN has been supportive of the activities of Kampala Club. As part of the club’s Independence celebrations this year, MTN Uganda has yet again extended this relationship with 25 million shillings as well as playing kit, medals, trophies and prizes for the Independence Cup tournament.

Kampala Club is the oldest social club in Uganda and is a sports home to many of Uganda’s finest corporate and business personalities. The relationship between MTN and Kampala Club stems out of the natural relevance of MTN’s suite of cutting edge business solutions that the brand offers club members to meet their needs in terms of accessibility, infrastructure, converged communications, security and software.

Speaking at the tournament’s closing ceremony, the General Manager, MTN Business Mr. Reginald Kafeero said, “Occasions like this one allow us to celebrate the great achievements both our organizations have realized over the years. These partnerships are a channel through which MTN Uganda has reached our strongest clients”.

“You have given our business the confidence to invest and propelled us to the brand of choice for our range of voice, data and enterprise solutions in Uganda”, he further remarked.

The Kampala Club Independence Cup is an annual event where club members competitively participate in 11 sports disciplines including squash, badminton, tennis, darts, table tennis, board games such as omweso, scrabble, and chess, walking, pool and swimming, as they contest for honours complimented by trophies and medals.

Reflecting on the reasons for MTN’s partnership with Kampala Club, MTN Uganda’s Chief Marketing Officer Mapula Bodibe said, “Solutions like 4G LTE in which we have significantly invested in to deliver the fastest Internet across Uganda have enhanced the way our customers and businesses operate. As an example, even while members relax and keep healthy lives at the club; their offices, and family anywhere in the country and across world are never far away. We have made it our mission and it’s our commitment, to lead the delivery of a bold new digital World to our customers, by delivering solutions that enable lives and improve productivity anywhere,” she concluded.
