MTN Uganda in partnership with Salam TV Uganda held a Ramadan dinner for Muslim clients, partners and media on Tuesday evening to commemorate the start of the holy month of Ramadan.

At the dinner, held at Hotel Africana, MTN Uganda acting CEO Gordian Kyomukama said that it was a pleasure to have hosted the Muslim community and thanked them for being partners to MTN Uganda. He also wished the Muslim community a peaceful Ramadan season.

“We are very pleased to spend this time with you as you begin the holy month of Ramadan. On behalf of MTN Uganda, we wish you the very best during this time; Ramadan is a very special time of spiritual reflection, improvement and increased devotion and worship,” he said.

Throughout Ramadan, MTN Uganda and Salam TV will conduct various activities to engage with Muslims all over Uganda.

The MTN Chairman, Charles Mbire, encouraged all Ugandans to adapt a spirit of giving during Ramadan. “As MTN Uganda, we would like to reiterate that Ramadan is not only about fasting but helping people in need and we therefore encourage everyone to remember those in need around them and share whatever little they have” he said.

Salam TV Chairman, Kin Ibrahim Kariisa, expressed his desire to keep working with MTN Uganda in the promotion of its brand in Uganda through the Next Media Services:

“The MTN brand has been a pillar of development to many businesses and a sign of support to many families that benefit from its diverse stable of products and services. We want to thank MTN Uganda for partnering with us again and we in turn commit to being partners in promotion of their brand to their target customers,” he said.
