MTN Uganda further stamped its presence and support for the game of golf by hosting their golfing customers to a spectacular day of golf at the Uganda Golf Club. Celebrated by many as the Number 1 Golf Day in Uganda, the MTN Leadership Team joined in the fun with their invited corporate customers. The game followed a shotgun start at 11.30am on Friday, 20 June 2014 and a sumptuous brunch paved the way for great day of golf.
Last year, the AH Consulting team made up of National Golf Captain Phillip Kasozi, Baker Mwanja, Timothy Okwi and Herbert Rwambibazi, lifted the cup, beating 32 Corporate teams after returning with 104 stableford points. The Sheraton team of David Sekitoleko, John Kasangaki, Patrick Mugisha and Anthony Okullo emerged as runners-up with 99 points.
MTN Chief Marketing Officer, Ernst Fonternel, said MTN has staked a Brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee 2014 for this year’s “Hole-in-One” prize and another 50 million worth of prizes including the latest side by side door fridges for the 1st 4 ball team, double door fridges for the 2nd 4 ball team and deep freezers for the 3rd ball winners. Besides great snacks and drinks placed strategically around the course, there are also 6 Longest Drive prizes and 2 Nearest to the Pin prizes with two specifically dedicated to the Ladies. The winners will receive Home Theater systems and Fridges as prizes.
