The Kabaka of Buganda officially opened the 2014 Bika Bya Baganda football tournament on Saturday as the E’ngo clan played the Mamba clan at the Wankulukuku stadium. The Mamba clan won this opening tie of the Bika Bya Baganda Football tournament as they beat E’ngo by 1-0.
However the fresh tournament has faced a small meander as the Mpologoma and Ngali clans missed their respective ties. This therefore implied that Mutima Muyanja and Lugave are through to the next phase of the 2014 Bika Bya Baganda Football tournament. The long anticipated double headers at Wankulukuku stadium was never played because Mpologoma did not honour their game against Mutima Muyanja while Ngaali also skipped their tie against Lugave without forwarding any reason, according to reports.
“The rules are clear, once a team does not communicate within 24hours and it fails to turn up, it stands to lose the match”, Faridah Bongole, the media specialist attaché to the tournament explained.
