After edging the Uganda Kobs by 4-1 in a penalty shootout following a barren 90minutes on Saturday, Mozambique have now progressed to the final stage of the qualification campaign for the All Africa Games in which they will face off with Ghana.
In front of an excited crowd at the Nakivubo stadium, the Uganda Kobs were painfully ejected out of the competition in a repeat of the first leg action when the game ended in a goalless draw.
Going into the penalty shootout, Vipers’ striker Julius Malingumu scored Uganda’s only goal on the evening.
The finals of the competition are due this year come September in the Congo Brazzaville.
