Movit Products Limited teamed up with the local community to clean up the Kora Norya market on Tuesday. Kora Norya stands in Mbarara as a vibrant hub of commerce, coloured by fresh produce and the lively chatter of vendors blended into a symphony of daily life.

The initiative which comes as they gear up for their 26th anniversary celebration, was aimed at not only enhancing the market’s aesthetic appeal but also promoting hygiene and creating a positive impact on the overall atmosphere.

The Movit team collaborated with local authorities and market vendors to plan the grand cleanup. As the sun rose on a Tuesday morning, a fleet of Movit-branded vehicles and enthusiastic volunteers gathered at the market armed with brooms, mops, and eco-friendly cleaning products ready to clean Kora Norya.

The volunteers were divided into groups, each assigned a specific section of the market. Movit’s staff worked side by side with market vendors, creating a sense of unity and shared responsibility. Laughter and conversation filled the air as they swept away dust and litter, revealing the vibrant colours of the market stalls.

Movit Products Limited didn’t stop at cleaning alone. They gave out Skin Guard Sanitiser, Baby Junior soap, Movit family soap to the vendors as a way of celebrating with their customers and inviting the community to join in the festivities at Kakyeka Stadium on the 9th of December in Mbarara. They also installed waste disposal points throughout the market.

Ms. Ketty Byarugaba, the Market Master, applauded Movit for encouraging sustainable practices and distributing hygiene kits to vendors, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness in promoting a healthy business environment by working together with the community to clean the market.
