Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho expects his side to give a better account of themselves when they take on Paris St Germain in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Wednesday night, despite suffering a defeat at Crystal Palace which left him questioning the qualities of his players.
The Blues moved back in the second place following a 1-0 loss at relegation-threatened Palace and a Liverpool win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Jose Mourinho, who was furious at the lack of “spirit and mentality” of his team in Saturday’s 1-0 loss, anticipates his players will shake off the setback in the French capital in the last-eight tie.
“I don’t think I need to do a lot now. Paris is the kind of match they feel comfortable to play,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“A big match, great stadium, opponents with top quality, a profile of referee that normally stops a lot, doesn’t let aggression come into the game.
“I think they will be fine, they will be in their natural habitat in that match so I believe they can do a good match there.”
