Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho caused a bit of a stir last season when he was recorded suggested that Samuel Eto’o was older than he claimed.
But the Special One hasn’t learned his lesson, it seems. He has now taken to accusing young defender Kurt Zouma of lying about his age.
The French teenager, who was signed in January but only linked up with the Blues this summer, says Mourinho jokes that he needs to undergo a blood test to make sure he is as young as he says he is.
Zouma told French newspaper L’Equipe: “The group, they laugh a little about me, about my age, because, well, I’m a big man for 19 years old.
“Even the coach, he once told me there was a blood test – ‘Here, we will see if you lied about your age!’
“But really, they’re cool.”
