Dew Xperience

Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), a leading soft drinks bottler in Uganda, has launched a nationwide, engaging and exciting competition dubbed the Mountain Dew Skateboarding Challenge Tour, to promote skateboarding, and deepen the brand’s connection with its customers in Uganda.

The tour was flagged-off today, by Mr. Jeff Sekandi, the Ag. Head of Marketing, CBL and will run until August 20, 2016, in major towns across the country. Skateboarding, an adrenaline-charging sport, will be used as the flagship activity of the tour. This is the first time there will be a national skateboarding championship in Uganda.

“Mountain Dew is pleased to announce a sponsorship package of shs200 million towards this inaugural Tour because it’s a strategic fit between the brand and what it stands for in the hearts of our consumers who love extreme sports,” Mr Sekandi, said.

“The tour is aimed at inspiring youth in Uganda to be bold, daring, cool headed, fun seeking, but also enlighten them on how they can minimize fatalities associated with extreme sports; in this case skateboarding.”

Other extreme sports that will be part of the tour include; free style motocross, roller blading, video gaming, and powerisors.

According to Berna Kizza, the brand manager, Mountain Dew, the tour will culminate into the grand finale in Kampala on August 20, 2016. At this closing ceremony, fans will experience great entertainment from top artistes, deejay mixes, and challenges that could enable them win lots of Mountain Dew goodies.

Last year, Mountain Dew rolled out the Xtreme Xperience Tour which attracted thousands of fans. Many Mountain Dew consumers won prizes for participating in the tours.
