Barely three days into the daily newspaper business and Hello Uganda is already rubbing people the wrong way. City Model Doreen Kabareebe is one of such people. She blasted Red Pepper and Hello Uganda for apparently writing lies about her even after she had been called and revealed the truth to the writer.
In a story entitled “Seika lured me into spending nights with him – Kabareebe,” the writer revealed that the model was at one time having a relationship with retired UPDF Major Juma Seiko. The writer went on to say that the two have not seen each other in a long while according to Juma’s side of the story among other things.
Doreen then took to social media to express her anger with Hello Uganda staff and promised to block all of them from her Facebook friends list. “Am blocking all media guys from my Facebook. Especially those who work for Redpepper, simanya Hello Uganda. A journalist calls you and asks questions then he writes completely different sh*t. Am blocking all of them and will never pick their phone calls. Am tired of hypocrites. They never care about the damages they cause.” She said angrily.
Whether the story was twisted or not, we are not sure, but one thing we are sure of is that Doreen is very unhappy with the newspaper. Hello Uganda became a daily effective this week on Monday 7th April 2014. It is run by Red Pepper and concentrates on celebrity news/gossip.
