Defending champions Vipers traveled away to Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) at Namboole Stadium in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on Tuesday. The team was joined by Farouk Miya, who was returning from international duty, that inspired their win on the day.
The Uganda Kobs (U-23) skipper scored a 14th minute well taken free-kick to send Vipers into the lead following a foul on new recruit William Wadri before the hosts got their equalizer on the brink of half-time.
In the second half, both sides looked formidable but the Buikwe based proved to have the edge over SCVU as Deus Bukenya finished off the job when he bagged the winner in the 78th minute.
It was a strong shot that beat an outstanding Joseph Ssebuliba in the sticks of Victoria University as Vipers claimed their third victory of the season out of four games.
The result leaves Vipers in second place on the 16-team table although they are tied on 10 points with leaders KCCA FC.
Meanwhile, Victoria University have played only three games, winning just one and losing two which leaves them 11th place on the table.
