It’s just four days to the return of the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) following a three week international break but it is being welcomed with mixed feelings.
Recently some coaches in the top flight league raised concerns about the break saying that the league needs to be planned better with out such a long recess and among these was KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi.
However, the same side now wants their tie against Kawempe based side, Bright Stars to be moved from Tuesday 27th to Wednesday, October 28th.
KCCA FC assistant coach, Omulangila Sam Ssimbwa says that the Kasasiro Boys have six players in the CHAN squad that returns on Monday, just a few hours after their game on Sunday against Sudan and then almost just a day to the league fixture which all seems inappropriate.
“We have six players on the national team and that makes it difficult for us to play them on Tuesday only a day after returning from Khartoum. We have written to the organisers and requested them to change date but we are yet to get their response though we remain optimistic,” Kawowo quotes the out spoken Ssimbwa.
Uganda Cranes play the Falcons of Sudan this Sunday (25th October) in the return leg of the third and final round of the 2016 CHAN qualifiers.
Here are the KCCA players on National Duty: Timothy Awani, Hakim Senkumba, Ivan Ntege, Denis Okot, MuzamiruMutyaba and Joseph Ochaya
