Mercy Mokeira , the 2016 Miss World Nyamira County has passed away.
Speaking to eDaily, her father Josephat Momanyi stated: “My first born child, Mercy Mokeira, died today (Saturday, January 28) – and my family is headed to North Kinangop Hospital to transfer her body to a morgue in Gilgil. It is such a sad day for me.”
Reports indicate that the former beauty queen was hospitalised last year in December after being diagnosed with a thyroid disease. She got treated and was discharge.
However, her reprieve was short-lived after she fell ill again in mid-January. Upon her second admission, Mercy passed away.
