Miss Uganda Leah Kalanguka is looking for Ugx 70 million to enable her participate in the Miss World contest next month.
The much coveted event is scheduled to take place in London in December 2014. Leah Kalanguka has today started the fundraising campaign by petitioning the speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga to support her financially.
She hopes that Kadaga can use her well placed contacts to raise the money she badly requires.
She needs the money for her up keep for one month. She adds that she will use some of the cash to buy locally made attires including art crafts that she intends to use to promote her country during the contest.
Speaker Kadaga has pledged to help to raise the money.
