Miss Uganda has shut down voting on their app following complaints from followers that they were being charged to vote.In an online statement, the team revealed that the category of Miss Pulse will only be voted for by the public on the MTN Uganda Pulse website for free.
The statement reads;
Following public feedback, the organizers of the Miss Uganda 2019 pageant together with their sponsors have discontinued the voting via the Miss Uganda Mobile App.The Miss Uganda Mobile App was designed to offer users access to a harmonized cache of Miss Uganda behind the scenes, real time, interactive content that would make them feel part of the contestants journey to the Miss Uganda grand finale happening on July 26th at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.
The voting charges on the app were aimed at benefiting the Miss Uganda Foundation charity projects however, feedback received from our fans indicates that they were not prepared for this new development. Therefore as a committee, we have taken the decision to remove the voting option from the Mobile app.
This will not in any way disrupt the votes already gained on the app; the votes will be kept and added to the votes tallied from the MTN Pulse voting microsite.We encourage all fans to vote for their favourite contestants via the website
pulse.mtn.co.ug/misspulse for FREE.We appreciate the support, love and hype shown for the contestants and you can still use the Miss Uganda mobile app to check out contestant profiles and snippets from behind the scene of boot camp.Miss Pulse/Popularity category is now live and voting is ongoing until a day to the finale.We will keep you posted.
