Newly crowned Miss Uganda Leah Kalangaku is set to rock the world stage for the Miss World beauty pageant. Leah was seen off by Finance Minister Maria Kiwanuka at a function at Namulanda in Wakiso district.
Leah is set to leave for London where the Miss World pageant will take place on Wednesday 19th November. Speaking at the function Hon. Maria Kiwanuka said, “Miss Uganda is a very special position and the beauty queen is an icon. It was timely for the pageant to get into agriculture because farming is the backbone of Uganda. There is big potential and room for us all in Agriculture.”
The function attracted General Salim Saleh, a Senior Presidential adviser on defence and also a founder of Namunkekera Rural Industrial Centre, the main sponsors of Miss Uganda who equally praised the organizers for choosing to attach the competition to Agriculture.
