Miss Uganda Leah Kalanguka whose crowning received harsh criticism from the public, has gone on to shine. The 23-year-old fresh Computer Engineering graduate will be honored with an Achievement Award at Twegaite Annual convention to be held in Minnesota, USA.
According to the organizers of the convention, Leah Kalanguka, born in Iganga, can be a good ambassador to promote Twegaite causes. Twegaite’s mission is to bring together Busoga, Ugandans & friends of Busoga in Minnesota, North America & around the globe to promote values of unity & development in Busoga, Uganda.
“This year’s Twegaite theme is Creating Connections & Building Bridges- Together for Busoga and Uganda. We strongly believe that with Miss Uganda, along with other partners, we can build bridges. Leah can be a good ambassador to promote Twegaite causes. We will be presenting Leah Kalanguka with an achievement award at this year’s Twegaite Convention in Minnesota,” the organisers said.
Meanwhile, Leah will also be a keynote speaker at the convention along with other several influential figures in the spheres of business and politics. These include; Hon. Wafula Oguttu, Leader of Opposition in Uganda Parliament, Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, Rt. Honorable Speaker of Uganda Parliament, and Dr. Paul Clyde, President of the William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan.
Twegaite International Annual Conference will be held from Thursday, May 21st to Monday, May 25th at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Suites, Bloomington, Minnesota.
